FM24VR v0.1.0 beta Your match. Your viewpoint. Enjoy Football Manager 2024 in VR. Use a curved screen for your inbox, team selection and tactics, then step into the stadium to watch matches in 3D. FM24VR is a free beta mod. Save your game regularly. WHAT YOU NEED - Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, current graphics drivers and a VR-capable PC. - Football Manager 2024 for Windows, version 24.4.2+2081827. FM24VR checks your game version and will tell you if it is unsupported. - SteamVR installed and selected as your OpenXR runtime. - HTC Vive Pro 2 with Vive wand controllers. Other headsets and controller types have not been tested. - Your usual mouse and keyboard for FM's menus. Wand pointing is not supported. EXTRACT AND START 1. Extract the entire ZIP into a writable folder, such as Documents\FM24VR. Do not run it inside the ZIP. Keep all the files and folders together. 2. Start FM24 normally, then SteamVR. Wake your headset and controllers. 3. Open FM24VR.exe and click Start VR. You can start from FM's inbox; you do not need to be in a match. 4. When the app says it is ready, put on your headset. If SteamVR asks, resume FM24VR/FM24 and close the SteamVR dashboard. Your FM screen appears in VR. Everything FM24VR needs is included. There is no separate software or voice service to install beyond FM24 and SteamVR. FM24VR and its commentary work offline; FM and Steam still have their own activation and offline-mode requirements. You do not need to replace or edit fm.exe. FM24VR makes Free camera available while the game is running without changing the game file on disk. ENTER AND LEAVE THE STADIUM - Enter a match on the 2D screen using your mouse and keyboard. - Select [D] Free in FM's camera selector BEFORE entering stadium VR. This is the recommended camera: it gives the best view and lets you fly around. - Press and release either wand's application-menu button, above the trackpad, to enter 3D when the match view is ready. Face forward while tracking settles. - Press the same button to return to the 2D screen for tactics, substitutions or other menus. FM24VR pauses a playing match when it can. Returning to 3D resumes only a match paused by FM24VR; a match you paused yourself stays paused. - In 2D, the menu button also recentres your screen. When no match view is available, it recentres the screen without entering 3D. - You can stay in VR between matches, using the 2D screen for normal FM tasks. FREE-CAMERA CONTROLS (EITHER WAND) - Rest your thumb on the trackpad briefly BEFORE clicking. This helps Vive controllers detect which direction you are pressing. - Click and hold up/down: move forward/backward in the direction you are facing. - Click and hold left/right: move sideways. - Hold grip first, then click up/down: fly upward/downward. - Hold grip first, then click left/right: turn in 45-degree steps. - Release the pad between turns or control modes. Flight speed is 3.4 metres/second. - Both wands have the same controls. Using both does not double your speed. - Wand movement works in Free camera only. Other cameras follow FM's movements. - To remember a favourite starting spot, use Save current position & facing in the app, then tick Use my saved position when entering Free. SCREEN AND SOUND Choose Stadium lounge or Dark surroundings in the app. Your choice takes effect the next time you start VR. The curved screen follows your FM window's shape. In the stadium, the scoreboard and match clock help you follow the game. Tick Enable spoken commentary and set your preferred volume. Daniel speaks at 1.25x speed during 3D match viewing, alongside FM's crowd audio. Routine play may use short player-name calls; important incidents receive fuller commentary. The first time you use commentary, allow a short delay while FM24VR prepares it from your installed game and loads the voice. This does not need an internet connection. Commentary is silent in 2D or if the voice is unavailable. STOP SAFELY — IMPORTANT Take off your headset, click Stop VR and wait for the app to finish stopping. If it asks for Free, select [D] Free once in FM if the camera selector is available. If the match has ended or there is no selector, save your game and close FM normally. You can then close FM24VR. Do not start another VR session while Stop is still waiting or a restart is requested. Returning to the 2D screen does not end your VR session. KNOWN BETA LIMITATIONS - Cameras other than Free may have missing players or stands when you look away from FM's camera direction. Free is strongly recommended. - Performance and clarity depend on your PC, headset and FM settings. Try setting FM's Frame Rate to 60 if movement feels uneven on Automatic. - Vive trackpad clicks can be inconsistent. Touching the pad before clicking helps. - Automatic pausing may not work in every situation. Check FM's play/pause indicator, especially during extra time or on menu screens. - English commentary may skip busy passages or mispronounce names. It will not read every commentary line aloud. - Stopping VR after full-time may require closing FM, as explained above. YOUR SETTINGS AND LOGS Your settings and saved starting position are stored in: %LOCALAPPDATA%\FM24VR Settings from earlier FM24VR versions are carried across automatically without removing the originals. The app creates a sessions folder beside FM24VR.exe for troubleshooting logs. Do not move or delete the app's folder while it is running. Keep your logs and settings private; share the original ZIP rather than your used installation folder. SHARING FM24VR Want to share FM24VR with another Football Manager fan? Send them the complete FM24VR-v0.1.0-beta.zip. The application needs its accompanying files and folders, so don't distribute FM24VR.exe on its own. Licences and third-party credits are included in the package. FM24VR is an unofficial fan-made mod and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Sports Interactive or SEGA.
